    bike speed
  • A bicycle's performance, in both biological and mechanical terms, is extraordinarily efficient. In terms of the amount of energy a person must expend to travel a given distance, investigators have calculated it to be the most efficient self-powered means of transportation.

  • an expert at calculation (or at operating calculating machines)

  • a small machine that is used for mathematical calculations

  • A calculator is a small (often pocket-sized), usually inexpensive electronic device used to perform the basic operations of arithmetic. Modern calculators are more portable than most computers, though most PDAs are comparable in size to handheld calculators.

Growing under the leadership of Roy Richter, Bell became a leader in safety equipment for auto racing, motorcycling, and then bicycling. His commitment to creating great product through a close connection with the sport, along with his trust of and care for the people who worked for him, turned Bell from a one-man operation into a multi-million dollar enterprise. His legacy lives on today in Bell's commitment to racing, quality and innovation.

Exposure calculator for average street light came out at f3.5 @ 1/2. I'm impressed that the exposure is so good for a W.A.G. The Force is strong with this one :)

The slow speeds are right on the money so this is proof. I placed the camera on a news stand and lightly pressed the release. The lens handled the street lights pretty well. I like how the bike riders are ghostly blurs.

Now with sprocket holes!

Go-Bag (work)

Go-Bag (work)

This is the bag I take with me to work. It must sustain the 25 minute bike ride across town without falling apart or getting in my way, so far it is doing an ok job, but I plan on replacing it with a good messenger bag once I find one. If you know of a good place/website that sells high quality messenger bags let me know.

Kurt Kinetic Wired Power Computer

The Kinetic Wired Power Computer is designed to give you accurate power (watt) readings when you are using a Kinetic Trainer. All other functions (speed, distance, cadence, calorie burn, altimeter, etc) are accurate both on and off the trainer. Because of this, the Kinetic Power Computer is an excellent choice for a cycling computer both on and off the trainer. The watts reading is calibrated based on a mathematical relationship between power and speed. This Kinetic Power Formula along with our proprietary software accurately estimates the cumulative effect of 16 different interactive forces. This power curve is based on the "average " rider on the "outdoor ride" using the following cubic function: P = (5.244820) * S + (0.01968) * S3. S=speed in miles per hour, P=power in Watts IN THE BOX: Computer, Stem / Handlebar Mount, Speed Transmitter w/magnet, Cadence Transmitter w/Magnet, Battery, Cable Ties.
